Christmas Came Early

I’ve been busy buying myself Christmas presents as usual. Unfortunately only two of which are in the sale. I really am the worlds worst sales shopper. I don’t get excited if I’ve seen it before (unless it’s been at the top of my wishlist for months).

My sales purchases so far have been this amazing Ashish sequin bag which I bought from Net-a-Porter and a Helene Berman coat from Asos (click image for link):

I adore this bag. It’s one of those purchases that brings me a lot of pleasure just by looking at it. It’s a good purchase for me as I’ll wear it all year round and it folds flat, which means I can take it anywhere.

The coat I bought on a whim as I have a few things by Helene Berman and they are all great quality. This is no exception – I love the colour, print and slim silhouette.

There have been some great knits on the market this Winter in great colours and textures. It’s not often you can pick up some bright knitwear, so I’ve made the most of it:

The yellow Ganni jumper had been on my radar for quite some time, so I knew I would buy this when it hit the shops. I was secretly hoping that it would be itchy or the colour wouldn’t suit me so I could send it back. Not so on both accounts, so it’s here to stay! If you can’t justify the price tag there are similar ones here (although not quite as bright or soft). I went up a size (as with all these knits) and do be aware that you need to wear something underneath because of the open knit.

The green one is H&M but has a real Prada feel to it. I’ve had so many comments on this jumper and people can’t believe it when I say where it’s from. I love the colour combination.

Coats are another Winter must-have and like the knitwear, I’ve been buying ones that are slightly unusual.

The first coat is by Mango and is unfortunately now sold out, however I’ve linked to another similar one that’s now on sale. I really love these teddy coats and this one is surprisingly warm for the price. The second is by H&M – I like the print, dropped shoulders and big sleeves – it’s great for layering as it’s quite oversized, although I don’t like the fact that M&S stock a coat in exactly the same print but a more conservative shape.

I’ve also had a bit of fun buying some new accessories:

These Accessorize berets are great if, like me, you have a small head. I have quite a collection of fedoras and beanies but decided these were a more chic alternative for cold, windy weather. The earrings are by Leigh Miller from Net-a-Porter – I love her sculptural designs and these are so light to wear – definitely a designer I’ll be watching.
