It’s a bumper year for great knitwear and the good news is that there are some amazing pieces on the high street.
Finally, some great colours and textures at all price points (tap image for link):
Under £150
There’s no excuse to be swathed in black and grey all Winter when there is such a great range of colours available:
I’m definitely buying more chunky knits this season – ideally ones that I can tuck into the front of jeans or trousers. I’ve already bought the two striped knits by Monki; the yellow polo neck, intarsia knit and orangey-red textured jumper (by ASOS); the orange cashmere scarf from Brora and this metallic striped knit from Gap (which I sized up x2). It’s not often that such great colours are available at such a good price (that’s my excuse anyway)!
Under £300
I have to confess that unusually for me, I’m finding it harder to convince myself to spend more money on a single piece if it’s not cashmere. Some sweaters are so expensive now and the composition may not be that different to ones under £50.
Having said that, if you do want to take the plunge it’s always worth investing in cashmere and anything that’s super-soft. (Never buy anything that makes you itch as you’ll never wear it.)
Under £500
The Mira Mikati pieces are so fun! They’ll be going on my wish-list in the hope that they’ll reach the sales.
Dreamy
The knit I’m salivating over the most in this category, is the yellow cashmere roll-neck from Brora – it’s such a stunning colour and I love the slouchy shape. I really don’t think I could justify the price though – it’s one of those purchases that would keep me up at night!
Which piece do you like the best?
