Exploring Seville

June 23, 2019June 23, 2019Leave a comment

Seville is perfect for a long weekend away. We loved the Alcazar (see my previous posts on Seville) but even if you don't get there, it's a great city for just wandering around, stopping for Spanish coffees in little squares and eating copious amounts of tapas. It's so beautiful and I would feel quite safe … Continue reading Exploring Seville

Plaza de Espana, Seville

May 30, 2019Leave a comment

The Plaza de Espana in Seville was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition the following year. For some reason I thought this was going to be much larger and linked to other buildings when in fact it is a solitary crescent in a park. It was built to showcase Spanish architecture and craftsmanship: It is … Continue reading Plaza de Espana, Seville

The Alcazar of Seville 🇪🇸

May 16, 2019May 16, 20192 Comments

I have to give the Royal Palace its own dedicated post as it was one of the highlights of our trip to Seville.I knew it was going to be beautiful but it completely blew my mind. If we hadn't had the kids with us, there's no doubt that we would have stayed there all day. … Continue reading The Alcazar of Seville 🇪🇸

Easter in Seville 🇪🇸

April 25, 2019April 25, 20192 Comments

Seville at Easter is quite an experience. I'm embarrassed to confess, we were completely naive and didn't realise to what extent the Sevillians celebrate Easter. I thought they'd just be a few parades on the weekends! We arrived quite late on the Tuesday night and had booked the Novotel for the first night before going to our … Continue reading Easter in Seville 🇪🇸

Mallorcan Days

May 24, 2018Leave a comment

We love Palma but being in the Mallorcan countryside made for a bit more of a relaxing break. If you do stay in the countryside you definitely need to hire a car. There are so many places to explore it would be a shame not to. Do be warned though that some of the roads … Continue reading Mallorcan Days

Deia & Valldemossa, Mallorca

May 11, 2018May 11, 2018Leave a comment

Whilst we were in Mallorca we took a drive to the North of the island to visit the villages of Deia and Valldemossa. Deia is quite small, in a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains and dropping down to the sea. There is not much to do here but appreciate the beautiful scenery whilst taking a … Continue reading Deia & Valldemossa, Mallorca

Finca Living, Mallorca

April 15, 2018April 15, 20181 Comment

Wow, what a lovely time we've had on the stunning island of Mallorca! We stayed in the most beautiful old finca (Spanish farmhouse) which we found through Airbnb. Finca Filicumis is an old olive farm (still complete with its original olive press) lovingly restored by its owners who have kept a lot of the original features … Continue reading Finca Living, Mallorca

Beautiful Barcelona

October 13, 2017October 13, 2017Leave a comment

Barcelona is such a great city to visit with its richness of culture and abundance of things to see and do.This was my second time in this diverse city and I still came away wanting more. Last time (sans children) we stayed at the beautiful Hotel Neri in the Gothic Quarter, which we visited again … Continue reading Beautiful Barcelona

The Costa Brava

September 24, 2017September 24, 2017Leave a comment

When we book our holidays we put in hours of research beforehand. It seems laborious at the time but we're always grateful we've done it once we arrive at our chosen destination. There are surprisingly few up-to-date books covering the Costa Brava so we did a lot of late night web-trawling. I think in the … Continue reading The Costa Brava

Catalonian Country Life

August 19, 2017August 20, 20172 Comments

I had never been North of Barcelona before and I was/still am stunned at how beautiful it is. The Costa Brava has had a bad reputation in the U.K. in the past so I was bowled over by it's richness in history, culture and natural beauty. We stayed just East of Girona in the stunning … Continue reading Catalonian Country Life

Just when I think Babington couldn’t get any better, they go and surpass themselves once again. 💗🥰
So nice to have a bit more freedom and get some topiary-love in. 😍
Only realised at 7pm that I hadn’t had any chocolate today. 🧐 Clearly the situation has since been rectified. 🤭🐰
A little slice of Italy without having to get on a plane.😍
Perfection.🙌 All the little things I used to take for granted are now magnified 100 times. So grateful to be out the house and seeing friends in my garden this week. 😍
3 weeks until I see my hairdresser.🥺🙈In other news...the sun came out today and tentative diary entries are being made.🤞🥳 What are your plans?
Have hit a wall with lockdown fatigue this week. 😫 Even been dreaming about spreadsheets and Glacier projects, that’s how exciting things are. 🙄
Thinking of this beautiful place in France where I had one of those long impromptu lunches with a great friend, laughing for hours over an endless plate of cheese and too many glasses of wine. Can’t wait for those times again. 🙏❤️
All the colours brightening my day.💗
Dreaming of running down these corridors. 💃
Even thinking back fondly to Summer 2020 at this point. 🥴😑
Dreaming in colour. 💭💗 (Making lists of all the places I want to return to. 🤞)
