The Knitwear Edit 2020

Knitwear is an absolute essential in my wardrobe as I feel the cold so. I am still a terrible jumper hoarder and have failed to get them all out of storage to see what I have, which is always a mistake.

When buying knitwear I do tend to just buy what I love, when really I should have a more considered approach (which I’m working on) around what I need and what I want the piece to go with/layer with etc.

This year there has understandably been a shift towards more loungewear pieces and because being warm, comfy and cozy have been so important I have allowed myself to invest in more relaxed pieces such as this Isabel Marant fleece:

This is such a warm jumper and an absolute dream to wear. I love the oversized silhouette and the high collar (see links to this and other favourites below).

I also bought this oversized striped knit by Isabel Marant Etoile as it’s something I can wear all year-round and I’m really loving stripes at the moment.

Etro and Isabel Marant are still my favourites for knitwear this year. Their designs always appeal to me; Etro, for it’s bohemian-luxe take on things and Etoile for it’s relaxed, slouchy, cool vibes.

More knitwear I’m loving (and trying not to buy) is as follows:

All these are gorgeous in different ways. Probably at the top of my wishlist is the Marant Etoile Sienna intarsia sweater and the Chinti and Parker cashmere track pants (I am living in my old patterned pair of these at the moment as they’re the only trousers that keep my legs warm).

I did treat myself to amother Etro knit which I thankfully found at a discounted price. I adore these belted cardigans of theirs as they double-up as a jacket and they’re long enough to wear with leggings:

The detail in them is always beautiful:

It’s definitely worth shopping around at this time of year as there are all sorts of discounts to be had in the run-up to Christmas if you can’t wait for the sales.

I hope everyone is keeping warm and safe.
