Spring Prints

Coming into a season where you don’t need so many layers is always a relief, particularly as I love prints and prints are always more accessible and easy to wear in the warmer months. As much as I like layering and am not afraid to mix things up, in the Spring it doesn’t require so much thought.

Animal prints are still going strong which is great as I think most women have some in their wardrobe. If you’re brave you can go for a more colourful take on this or you can opt for florals, scarf prints, gingham or tie-dye instead.

At the moment I’m still wearing my lighter-weight coats but mixing them with more pastel colours to bring them into the new season. Don’t be afraid to mix animal prints or similar prints in different colours – anything goes.

Since buying a tie-dye men’s t-shirt from Asos last year (sadly the one I bought is no longer available), I’m a reluctant convert.

I’m really into men’s t-shirts; I love the oversized look and longer sleeves (plus, if you’re a shorty like me, you can wear them as a beach cover-up over a bikini).

I have just bought the floral linen dress from Urban Outfitters and love it. They bring these out every year and I’m a big fan.  The other dresses I’ve bought in the past from them have been very plain, so I was easily swayed into buying this one. I love the thicker tie-straps, pockets and slightly steeped hem which makes it different to my other ones.

The black and white camisole with pearl buttons would look great with denim and a tan and is definitely on my wishlist. As is the chunky striped Chinti and Parker cardigan which I would wear open as a cardi-coat or maybe even see if I could wear it buttoned up as a dress with trainers – I love the sunset colours.

Zimmerman, Rhode and Figue never fail to please when it comes to great prints and colours. They are always on my Summer wish-list. I particularly adore the pink and blue printed Figue tunic, the green floral Zimmerman dress and turquoise cashmere Chinti & Parker knit with lemons on it – it reminds me of Italy and has a hint of Dolce & Gabbana about it.

I’ll definitely be wearing prints this Spring and well into Summer.
