I have recently been to the beautiful Lucknam Park Hotel for a lovely spa day and dinner with friends & realised that despite it being one of my favourite places to visit – I’ve never written a blog post about it! So here it is….
The first thing I love about Lucknam is its sweeping tree-lined drive. It really makes you realise you’re entering a very special place.
As it’s based in the countryside you really notice the change of seasons here (as you’ll see in these photos). In the Winter you have roaring fires and beautiful Christmas decorations, the Spring brings an abundance of snowdrops and daffodils, Summer – plenty of roses and an array of foliage and Autumn the most divine changing of colours. There really isn’t a bad time to visit.
When I come here I always have a walk around the gardens first.
Then I usually pop into the main house for a cup of coffee or something stronger.
The house dates back to the 18th Century and has 500 acres of land, 42 bedrooms, a spa, equestrian centre and two restaurants – the Michelin starred Restaurant Hywel Jones and the Brasserie. I have eaten at the latter numerous times and it just seems to get better and better.
And lastly the spa which is in the same building as the Brasserie is just as spoiling. Come here for a day and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve been away for a long weekend.
For further information and to book click here. I’ll definitely be returning again soon and desperately want to try the Michelin starred restaurant. If anyone’s been – do let me know what you think.
