With the New Year there inevitably comes the need to update my existing wardrobe with a bit of a ‘refresh’. (Yes, I know – any excuse!).One of the first things I bought was a new cashmere jumper in cream from Pure Collection as I hate wearing dark colours on dreary days and January & February are pretty grey in the UK.
I liked the idea of lifting my mood with some Winter whites and sized up one for a really relaxed fit. It’s a dream to wear and so reasonably priced for the quality.
Since then Pure has kindly gifted two items of my choice from their new arrivals which I’m really delighted about as I have been buying cashmere from them for about 6+ years, so it’s a brand I genuinely love.
If you fancy some new separates checkout their new arrivals and you can get 20% off (plus free postage and returns) with the code PUREEMMA (offer ends 1.03.18) or you can use the link here.
I immediately picked the same cashmere knit (this time in pink) and a silk top in stunning coral.
In the past I have only bought cashmere from Pure and I have to say that their silk is just as good. I particularly like the fact it’s a nice weight, as a lot of other silk tops I’ve tried lately are too thin and sheer for my liking. In retrospect though I probably should have got it true to size (I sized up one), although it will be nice and breezy in warmer weather. The colour is amazing (click image below for direct link) and I’ve also got my eye on this printed piece.
I’ve also bought some new jeans as I wanted a couple of new styles seeing as I pretty much live in denim all year round. The first pair is the cream ‘Benny’ jeans from Khaite at MatchesFashion. They’re called ‘mid-rise’ but I think they are definitely more of a high rise fit.
They are close-fitted (true to size) and have a cropped kick-flare. I’m loving how fresh they make my wardrobe feel even though we’re still in Winter. I like them so much I’m seriously tempted to get the same style in a darker denim.
I have also been hunting around for a cheaper straight-leg pair of blue jeans and stumbled upon these in the French Connection sale (only a few left and again true to size). The hem though was so horrible I got my trusty tailor to lop it off & take them up so they are now cropped and so much nicer. Cue smug, money-saving (ha,ha) victory dance.
Another good buy has been my Neous Aunty pumps from Net-a-Porter.

I have to be honest, falling in love with these was somewhat of surprise as they could definitely be called ugly from some angles. However the lines and colour blocking just won me over. They are not true to size (as stated) though and to be honest the sizing is odd – I ended up sizing down by a half and they are still slightly too big but nothing that an insole won’t fix. Despite these flaws I am deeply in lust with them – they elongate your legs and I adore the edge they bring to an outfit. I have a feeling I’ll be wearing them a lot this year.
My final update has been another Rhode Resort dress from MatchesFashion (direct link here).
This was a much sought-after purchase as I had fallen in love with the print and colours back in October and decided then that I would definitely buy it when it landed in-store.
These dresses do sell-out quite quickly so I knew I couldn’t hang around. I have the same ‘Ella’ dress in a different print (see blog post here) and find it really flattering with its loose top, full skirt and tie waist. I can’t wait to wear it and am also lusting after this one!
I have also bought a few small accessories which are so fun they deserve their own blog post so I’ll be covering those in my next fashion write-up.

A special thanks to my dear friend Momoko for taking the pics of me I couldn’t take myself. The beautiful location is Lucknam Park which I’ll do a separate blog post on.
