Packing for a Girls Trip

I use the term ‘girls’ very loosely here but am soon returning to the South of France with a partner-in-crime. It will be quite different to my last visit to Nice as I’m hoping to get to wear some heels and there’s a luxury hotel waiting for me, rather than a self-catering Airbnb. It’s going to be a hard few days of reading, lounging, eating & drinking – bliss!

Although I’ve decided to only take hand luggage I’ve discovered EasyJet’s ‘Upfront seats’ (which I’m sure my husband has been keeping a secret from me). These cost a bit extra but allow you speedy boarding and the all important additional handbag/laptop bag which makes a world of difference (click on image for link).

I couldn’t resist a piece of new Missoni when it landed at The Outnet recently. I’m going to pair this with my old white shorts (similar here) and Dries Van Norton flip flops.

I’ve also just bought these fabulous stripy earrings:

These are by Rebecca de Ravenel from Matches Fashion. I’ll be wearing them with my black Urban Outfitters dress and Dolce & Gabbana flats for day & Aquazzura heels and Gucci snake clutch for evening. I’ve also just ordered this fabulous bag by My Beachy Side (at Matches Fashion), I think it’s more pink than red but I love wearing clashing colours. I particularly love that it’s crochet so I should be able to pack it easily (unlike a lot of beach bags) and the fact that the company employ women in need and use recycled cotton.

My airport outfit will be all about comfort as usual:

I love these Gucci slides, they are the perfect airport shoe – so comfy and easy to slip on and off on the plane. I’m constantly salivating over the new colours that come out. My main bag will be my vintage Chanel tote which is lovely and roomy (similar here). I can also wear these trousers in the evening with my Jimmy Choo nude Ivette shoes (I sized up by a half) and my DvF floral dress (now on sale but only a few left), left half open so it’s more like a kaftan.

As per usual I did a quick pre-holiday shop in Anthropologie and picked up this beautiful ochre/gold cami (am obsessed with this colour at the mo) and the embroidered dress below. The dress is a lot nicer in person (I couldn’t find a link to it online but it’s in the sale if you can find it in-store).

I really have embraced Summer dresses this year; it’s such an easy way to dress and makes packing a lot simpler. All you need are a couple of short and long options, a mix of accessories and you’re good to go for a few days. I particularly like the Rhode Resort dress and have already got my eye on their next collection (they have some amazing prints coming out for Resort ’18) – it’s worth signing up for updates as they sell-out fast.

A couple of bikinis will also go in – I really love my red and white Solid & Striped one and have got their marigold sixtie’s style one on my wish-list.

I’ll also take another coverup if I’ve got any room!

My best buys this Summer have definitely been my Zara slides (now sold out) and my Urban Outfitters dressses. What about you?
