Kensington Caper

There’s nothing like a chic, eclectic bolthole in the middle of a city and The Kensington Hotel is a great place to relax at the end of a busy day in London. This boutique hotel is a short walk from the Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum and a slightly longer but manageable walk to Harrods (although you may want to get a taxi back if you have a few bags!).

I love the fact that it is based in some beautiful white Kensington townhouses…

I stayed here whilst the boys spent the night at the Science Museum nearby. As much as I wanted to be with my family, camping on the floor with 400 people didn’t quite compare with the comfort of a nearby boutique hotel!

Plus it was a good excuse to stay in a hotel that does cater for families, should we come back for future stays that aren’t under the lunar module.

The staff here are extremely welcoming and I can see why they have many repeat visitors. I stayed in a superior room which was fine for me but would recommend a deluxe room if you want more space. At £200+ per night it’s good value for the area.

It was quite bijou but the bed was fantastically comfy, the sheets beautifully crisp and the shower powerful. This is a great home from home.

It was so lovely to wake up on a cold, crisp day and come down to a warm welcome from the staff and some roaring fires in the living rooms.

There are some lovely places to relax and make sure you use their lovely staircase!

I’m still not sure how I managed to leave without one of those pink velvet chairs.
